Silverman Vindicated as Jesus Bowl Translates to “Magic”

CAIRO, Egypt.  With news that a team of scientists have discovered a bowl bearing the earliest known reference to Jesus as “Christ the Magician”, Jewish comedienne Sarah Silverman claimed vindication in a long-running battle with the Catholic Legion of Decency, which had accused her of insensitivity for using the title “Jesus is Magic” for her first feature-length film.

“Jesus is Coming–Look Busy!”

“Nobody–and I mean nobody–knows Roman Catholic theology the way I do,” Silverman said as she hustled through the King Tut International Airport on her way to visit the archaelogical site where the bowl was found.

“What’s a nice Jewish girl like you doing in the middle of a Christian theological debate like this?”

Silverman is known for an edgy humor style in which she uses racial epithets and gets away with it, unlike Michael Richards.  She is the latest in a long line of equal opportunity offenders that began with comedian Mort Sahl, who would interrupt his routines by asking the audience “Is there anybody here I haven’t offended yet?”

Before Silverman hit it big she scuffled from one stand-up job to another, earning money on the side from bar bets with drunken Catholics as to what the term “Immaculate Conception” refers to.

“It was the conception of Mary without Original Sin,” noted Silverman confidently.  “Most people think it was the touchdown pass by Doug Flutie that beat Miami.”
